A distinctive space calls for a solution that brings functionality and architecture together. For the council chamber at Dalfsen Town Hall, we created an acoustic upgrade with a warm, refined appearance.

Where form, function and speech intelligibility come together
In the council chamber at Dalfsen Town Hall, democracy, architecture and functionality come together. A space where every word counts calls for perfect acoustics. We had the honour of giving this impressive circular chamber a high-quality aesthetic and acoustic upgrade.
The challenge: softening hard lines within a flowing form A circular space with large windows and hard materials is a beautiful design choice, but often presents a challenge for speech intelligibility. To reduce reverberation without losing the chamber's open, monumental character, our NXT PETpanel 9 mm was selected.

Details that make the difference
Bespoke V-Groove design
The real strength of this project lies in the details. V-Groove technology allowed us to transform the clean, flat NXT PETpanel. Precise vertical cuts gave the panels the flexibility to follow the organic curves of the central council table and surrounding walls seamlessly. The result is a harmonious combination of texture, warmth and calm. A council chamber where decisions can be made with complete clarity.
