A dynamic work environment calls for an interior that combines aesthetics, functionality, and acoustics. For PicNic’s headquarters in Amsterdam, various meeting rooms were fitted with custom PET panel elements that complement the company’s distinctive and energetic style.

Acoustics made to be seen

At PicNic’s headquarters, everything revolves around room for growth. Not just within the organization, but in the work environment itself. Consequently, the aim for the various meeting rooms was to find a solution that reinforces PicNic’s vibrant identity while ensuring a pleasant acoustic environment.

The challenge: translating a distinctive identity into a custom acoustic solution.

Meeting rooms require a sense of calm and excellent speech intelligibility, yet the interior should also reflect what PicNic stands for. Using PETpanel, a series of unique wall designs was created to combine these functions. The panels were crafted into various distinctive graphic shapes, including the PicNic logo in the ‘Room for Growth’ space.

By playing with shape, color, and layering, the resulting interior not only absorbs sound but also adds character to the various rooms.

Layered design with character

To add extra depth and character to the design, a 2-layer PETpanel configuration was used. This involves precisely bonding two layers of 9 mm PETpanel together.

This creates a dynamic look, giving the design added depth and a subtle 3D effect. The various layers produce a playful interplay of lines and lend the wall extra character.
